Yesterday we visited Bhat-Bhateni Super Store and stumbled upon a brand new environmental initiative.

Bhat-Bhateni is now encouraging shoppers to use re-usable plastic bags and is also selling re-usable branded bags. I quickly visited the Bhat-Bhateni web site and found their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) page which says:

I usually use grocery bags, but I'd like to cut down on that.... though I'm really not sure what to use instead.  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks to reading a blog by EnviroGirl I've realized it is completely
hypocritical to bring reusable bags to the grocery store, but then put
all my veggies in individual bags! I have thought about this before but for some reason thought it was unavoidable.

So, from now on I am going to use my handy green crate and place my veggies directly into it.

I live in Japan where supermarkets and local governments are taking steps to reduce the amount of plastic that consumers take home, throw away, and municipalities dispose of in either incinerators or landfills.

My martial arts teacher always tells us to flow with nature. Don't fight it.

Isn’t it annoying that even when you take the care to bring your own cloth or reusable shopping bags for grocery shopping, you come back home with your bags filled with little transparent shopping bags?

It sure bothered me, so I created something to solve this problem worth telling you about, if I may. It’s called Moukinets.
