A Family Built with Vancity. Growing up, I watched my mother and father struggle with a new family. Both new in their careers, it was Vancity that gave them a mortgage to buy their first home. Since then, they have advanced in their careers, put myself through University, saw me off into my career, put my younger brothers through school, and built upon their home.

There it goes, another candidate answers! Giving some reason for optimism, Jennifer Sweeney contacted me herself! It's almost coming to a point where it makes sense to make comparisons between answers of the different candidates.

I only got answers for two of the scenarios so far from #11, Gregory Dean, but they are quite extensive and (I think) interesting so I will post them already:

#13, Catherine Roome was the first to send me a complete set of answers (#11, Gregory Dean, only sent me his answer for the first scenario, so I'll wait for more material until posting his answers). No news from the rest so far.

As the rest of Vancity members, I received my voting package, and finally could read a bit about all the candidates. As a recent vancouverite, I only knew something about one of them: Gregory Dean. And I only know about him because I met him in person and discussed with him about our ideas for change.

What's participatory economics, you might ask? And why do I equate it with hope in my post? In short, it has something to do with the next vancity boards of directors election, and a project that could help change the economy as we know it.
