Eat Sushi. Save the Planet.

We can change business as usual.

We buy things everyday.  Businesses will do anything for money.
Businesses will do anything for our money… so why don’t we use that
power?  To use our purchasing power requires organization, and until
the Carrotmob
came around, groups hadn’t seen ‘our money’ organized on a grassroots

Giving up plastic for good

Written by daisukii

I've started to phase out plastic utensils and plastic wrapping out of my everyday lifestyle. I am working on opting out of using single use plastic wrap and any wasteful products in exchange for fresher foods, sitting down for meals, environmentally friendly alternatives and a plastic free life...

It's not as hard as you think

Waste-Wood Burning Energy Plant in Southeast False Creek.

Southeast False Creek (SEFC), the last undeveloped waterfront land near downtown Vancouver, and site of the Olympic Village, might also house a waste-wood burning energy plant. The City of Vancouver and a developing company called the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) have been working together to transform Southeast False Creek into a model sustainable development. CMHC was to ‘provide technical assistance and best practices to the design process’ to construct a ‘net-zero-energy, healthy housing project’. This was promised to be “The Greenest Urban Neighbourhood on Earth.”

Living plastic free: Plastics 101: Part 1: Bad Witch, Good Witch

Are you a Good Plastic, or a Bad Plastic? by Suzy Becker

(Grab a java. And your ruby slippers. This is one long trek through OZ.)

All is not right in Kansas.

It started as just a windstorm a-brewing. But look over there, I'm sure that's a funnel cloud on the horizon. And can you feel a mysterious alteration of the air….and a warm wind headed our way? The birds have stopped singing and the crickets aren't chirping. And when they’re quiet it’s never a good sign…’cuz it’s an omen a real tornado is headed our way.

And that tornado is global warming.

Will you and EnviroWoman be standing in the eye of the storm soon? Or can we change our ways profoundly enough, and fast enough to divert disaster?
