Three things that I’m really proud of and those I want to recognize

Written by lovinchange

Here are three things that I’m really proud of and the people I want to recognize:

1. My colleague Jennifer in Community Business Banking who always brings her lunch in reusable containers – she must have saved at least a tonne of waste from going to the landfill in the four years I’ve known her.

2. The fact that the company I work for, Vancity, has reduced its carbon footprint every year since we began tracking it in 2007 – and this is mostly due to the green actions of employees.

3. Our business member Frogbox, who uses a biodiesel truck for their deliveries and pickups - which greatly reduces their vehicle greenhouse gas emissions.

What are you proud of? Is it a colleague or member/customer that you see doing green actions day in and day out. Is it a department or team that strives to reduce the impact of their operations by greening their business processes? Is it an organization’s commitment to being carbon neutral?

Let’s recognize the people and companies who are taking those steps to take action on climate change. Blog about those that you want to recognize and show appreciation for.

I want to recognize all the secretaries. Secretary truly plays an important role in a company. As secretary, you may have taken care of most everything in the office thus, you should be dedicated to your work as the business' development is also on your hand. And for that, I would like to thank all the administrative professionals I know for their hard work. I think this Administrative Professionals Day needs some recognition. Every year this day comes and goes, and it appears to be looked over far too often. Today falls in the middle of Administrative Professionals Week, typically the third of fourth week in April. How can we have a whole week devoted to them and still do so little to celebrate. This goes out to all the administrative professionals who are overworked and underappreciated, thank you!
